In the last post we covered some definitions and fundamentals of law of attraction, and intention manifestation. Now, let's begin to make the first steps toward getting some results!
The first thing to understand is that "attracting" or "manifesting" isn't something that you do on a whim now and then. Setting yourself up to succeed involves understanding that it's something that you are doing all the time. When you come into form in this physical plane, through the sub conscious mind and awareness, you are manifesting your experience 24/7 365! It's sort of like when you go out and start your car on a winter day. After the motor turns over and is running, it will do so (provided it's not a Dodge :D just kidding) without any other attention. You don't have to keep looking at it or turning the key or anything. What we are doing now on a deeper level is understanding that, "oh yeah, my car is running, I should do something with it!".
To get started here, we must cover that what we are doing is intentionally learning how our energy system operates and how to change it to our likings. What was before projected out, must be reclaimed which requires that one must first fully accept what ever currently is. From there, we can observe our thoughts, know our beliefs, and make changes to achieve the results that we want. From here, the thought pattern goes from "I can't....becasue....someone/thing else did..." to "I can...because I am creating my life...and I will have...do...be...as I choose". Just on the off chance that no other person in your life has ever told you "Yes..YOU CAN!", let's solve that! I just told you that you can, becasue I learned that I can, and that's the attitude that sets you up to succeed!
So, for an example let's say that I have a desire to have a pepsi today. From an A to B process it would go as follows. First thing that I must evaluate is what I believe about the subject with pure honesty. Now let's say I am flat broke. Does the first thing that comes to mind sound like, I'm broke!!! I can't have a pepsi!?! This is where we need to get out the tool box before we drive the broke down car. That belief needs to be handled first and foremost. I need to change that and truly believe that it's possible for me to get a pepsi. Maybe, someone might give me one, maybe I might find change in the car, maybe somebody dropped their case of pepsi on the ground at the store and one rolled right to me (that actually happened once :D ), I mean the possibilites here could be endless!! The next step now, that I have realized that it is possible for me, is to take that positive emotion, and that idea and decide it. Before deciding it, I also know that from the time I decide, that post determination is at work and the resources will be provided to me to take action on and manifest my creation of two different types of energy into physical reality.
All righty then, so, now I have decided that today, that I can and I will have a pepsi. That is an intention, which is simply directing your energy toward fulfilling a desire. The question to ask now, is do I really believe that? Can I really have a pepsi? If you have a doubt here, we have to get out the tool box again which happens quite a bit when you first start out. Now we get to where we want with this, internal "self talk" should be along the lines of, I have had a pepsi before, it doesn't matter if I don't have the money right now, I WILL HAVE A PEPSI! That's putting the high voltage positive energy behind it that will really get things moving. Setting an intention has to be done with 100% certainly for it to get moving.
From here, the thing to do is know that your pepsi is on it's way and forget about it and move on. There is no need to dwell on this or keep starting the car after it's running!! Somewhere a little bit later something might spark your interest when you aren't expecting it. That is whats call inspired action. Something might happen, like you might look down on the ground and find 50 cents, or you might help somebody move something and they slip you a 10, you might even find a can of pepsi on the curb, could be many things but thats how this works. Only thing that you have to do now, is receive what you had intended by taking action. Nothing tough right?
Here's the keys to a sure fire way to set yourself up to succeed. You have to know and visualize with feeling, what exactly it is that you want. You must also completely believe that you can and will have it before "intending" or deciding that you will have it. Much of this is faith building work that takes a lot of effort to build up but it's well worth it. Once you have decided, you must then expect that post determination on a universal level (non physical you) will set up the opportunities for you to act on to bring it in to the physical world. This is a lot like setting the timing on a car, if it's off, it will backfire and run rough until it's all set right. Point being, if you visualize and intend having $500,000 and believe that it's not possible, you will end up with a HUGE backfire. Everything has to be in alignment and cooperation to get from A to B. Goes like this, I want a **, I can have a **, I intend to have a **, and I am going to take action when it's right to receive my **. All of those things are working together and it will flow or run just fine!
This is just a little bit of background information to get get things moving. A little bit more on this can be found here.
Taking this slow can be frustrating, but trying and failing 40 times is a lot more frustrating, and it's important that we cover that here. Always start out with something that's small and no big deal to you to practice with. A cup of coffee, a cat, a Pepsi, things like that are perfect for learning how to use the abilities you have! Final thought on this, and this is important, have fun trying and experimenting with this!

Fundamentals
In the last few post I have discussed various starting points and methods to find out where you are and now we can begin to cover what to do. As with doing work on anything, you need tools. However, one must first know what actions to take and what those actions involve before beginning any job. The first thing we must know before starting a job is how what you are working on operates. This is similar to reading the instructions before you put something together. I will now lay out some general fundamentals to work with.
#1. Everything in the universe is composed of energy.
Myself, everyone else, and everything is composed of the same "stuff". No matter what the form looks like, it's all made of protons, neutrons, and electrons. Science can be helpful in this case. As we know, energy can not be made or destroyed, it can only change form.
#2. Everything and everyone is connected to the same energy source. What appears to many separate or individual forms are actually one at a molecular level. This concept is approached scientifically as "quantum physics"
So, what does this have to with me and what are you trying to say is what I am sure you are wondering. Allow me to explain in more detail. Before attempting to work on something you must first know how it operates. Given that we are all composed of energy, an understanding of how energy operates would be helpful. An understanding of your own energy and universal energy can make personal development much easier and productive. There are many tools for working with energy and many names for them. However, without understanding that everything is energy and it's all tied in as one, those tools would provide much more frustration than results.
Now, let's look at what energy is and how it operates.
#1. Protons: these particles are charged in an outward moving flow. On a human level, that outward flowing energy would take form as thoughts, ideas, inspirations and those types of things.
#2. Electrons: these particles pull or draw in the out ward flowing electrons. Emotions, desires, feeling and intuition would be examples of that type of human energy.
#3. Neutrons: These particles have no charge of their own but are required to bond the protons and electrons to create a form. The human body and all forms created from energy are examples of the role they serve in creation.
So "you" are a blend of a different types of energy constantly flowing and working together. Understanding of that is very important in working on personal development. I know by now you are probably thinking, "ok...get to the golden nugget that will get me where I want to go" by now. The reason I am sharing this information way that I am is from personal experience. I have gotten many chickens and many eggs and it took me forever to make an omelet if you know what I mean! Patience is required here, to be successful, you must go in steps in the correct order.
Let me share with you a little background information on how I learned how to play guitar. When I started out in my teens I learned a few things here and there and by the time I was 18 I could play a whole 2 songs! I wanted to get better at it, so I decided to pursue it. I went out and spent a lot of money on a great guitar, and a wonderful amplifier, and knew how to play 3 songs by that point. By the time I was 20 I knew how to play 5 songs and thought I was great. One day I found a bar that had an open jam night so I decided to take my high dollar equipment and show everybody how great I was. I made a total a** of myself in front of the whole crowd that night. That experience lead me to learning it step by step in the correct order. I soon learned that songs were played in "keys" and what chords were in each key. Then I learned all the chords and where they were and began to learn how to play lead in key. By the time I was 22, I was jamming like BB King at blues night and I have been working at developing my skills ever since. Looking back on it, I wished I had learned it step by step but we all make mistakes and learn. So, now when I teach anything I use that approach and many people have found it to be very valuable.
So, we are getting to the tools and how to use them. If you feel comfortable here, feel free to move on. If you wish to stop and take it all in, that's fine too. Some of this stuff is kinda heavy and needs some time to make sense. My advice here is to take your time and if you get frustrated, just stop for a while and come back to it later. Next post I will cover some tools and techniques for working with energy.

Acceptance In Self
As discussed in the previous post, we are laying a ground work for getting results and developing as an individual. A key concept to know when getting started is acceptance. Being that I have a mechanical background, I would like to share an example of what I am saying here.
Let's say that I searched the classifieds and I bought a 1968 Mustang on eBay. The listing didn't have any pictures but the price was right, the shipping was free and it's arriving on a truck today for me to have. The car rolls off the truck and the first thing I have to do is make an assessment of it. I have to inspect it from every angle, look for known problems and check all of the fluids before I can even turn the key. From there, I have to start the car, listen to how it's running and check for leaks, smoke, and other mechanical problems before I drive it. From there, I can take it out on the road and see how it's running and determine that part of it's condition. All of these steps must be completed before making any decisions on what to do with the car. I have chosen to accept this car as is and it up to me to do what I decide to do with it.
Now, if the car had massive engine trouble, it would be ridiculous of me to ignore that fact and decide to drive it anyway. In making the conscious choice, (I knew what I was doing) to accept the car, I also accepted anything and everything that could be wrong with it. Therefore, if I am not happy that the motor needs work and the tires the tires are bald, I am not going to email the seller and yell up a storm and initiate a long drawn out law suit. I am going to make the choices and take the action needed to fix up the car. Maybe I need to learn how to work on the engine, maybe I should take it to a shop, any of these things are within my responsibility. After all, its my car, and it's care is up to me and how I choose to make it happen. Kicking the tires won't put tread on them, yelling names at the motor won't fix it, crying at the kitchen table won't do any good either. I simply have to accept the situation, honestly, for what it is, and make better choices.
The example given was meant to illustrate the concept of honesty and acceptance in personal development. When you evaluate yourself, it must be done with almost brutal honesty and non judgment. Let's say in the process you discover that you have been a real jerk to a lot people. That's like the bald tires, but you can do something about it by making better choices and taking new actions based on those choices. Simply forgive yourself, learn from the mistake, and adjust accordingly. Anything about yourself is malleable and changeable. Nothing has to be set in stone unless you determine it to be that way.
Denying parts of yourself produces no results and can sometimes even make you look really silly. Let's say you were mayor of a town and the newspaper wrote an article about you and how nice of a person you are and put on tomorrow's front page. Let's also say you have a bad case of road rage and you flipped off the reporter at a stop sign and they put that story in the following day's editorial. The personal development approach to this situation is to give the inner road rage gremlin your 100% honest acceptance, as is, and work on that. Not, deny that you flipped off the reporter and choose to ignore your issues with road rage. Making that decision could make you look very silly, especially if 10 people saw you do it and somebody took a picture of you doing it with their cell phone and sold it to the paper. If you drum up the courage to accept yourself and your mistake and take the action to correct the situation, a few things will happen. People will see you as human, like them, and you would inspire other people to work on their issues with road rage as well, and you would grow as a person. Also, maybe you might want to dedicate a web site to the subject or something like that.
Depending on your honest assessment and how you view yourself, you could be that pristine 1968 Mustang that needs a tune up, or a rust bucket in the weeds that needs a full re build. Non judgment is crucial here. Any assessment is completely acceptable and should be taken as is. Any condition can be improved and the acceptance without denial is the first step. From there, you can make any choice and take any action to produce whatever result is desired. Sure you can put a nice coat of paint on a rust bucket but if the motors junk and you choose to deny that fact, you'll get stranded eventually. Every single part and it's relationship to the other parts must be honestly evaluated and accepted in it's current state before any work or progress can be made. Even a Nana mobile can be a total hot rod with a little a work so have fun and practice accepting and loving yourself and you are!

How to get started.
Now, so you want to get start in your journey of personal development. So where do we start? Where do we begin? First, we must cover a few topics that crucial to developing as a person.
#1. NO self judgment
We all make mistakes, its simply how evolution goes. Everybody has had something that didn't turn out right or didn't go as planned. When you recognize that you made a mistake, don't beat yourself up over it. Just accept that it's all part of a learning curve. Learn from the mistake and move on.
#2. End the blame game.
As with all situations some can be frustrating and some may not have produced the optimal results. When getting undesired results, it is counter productive to cast blame. Putting blame on the government and this person and that person does nothing but create a viscous cycle of victim hood. If you have produced an undesirable outcome, accept it, and take the action necessary to change it.
#3. This is about you.
All of this work is strictly based on the individual. Everything in your life that you assess is all a product of choices you have made and action you have taken. It's all subject to change, so there is no need to deny or avoid anything. The good, the bad, the ugly, it's all you. If you have made a mess, oh well, you can make something great out a mess with a little bit of know how and effort. This type of work requires taking full responsibility for yourself. That (as said above) DOES NOT mean blame yourself and beat yourself up. It just means accept the choices and actions you have taken, and make different ones.
#4. The point, is to honestly feel good
Every aspect of your life is determined by the choices you make in any given moment. To begin work on development, it's crucial to be in a good or neutral mood before beginning. I.E., If your significant other left you before you went to work, your boss made you mad, and you got 3 flat tires driving home dodging a tornado, this is NOT the time to approach the subject. As previously stated, everything is determined your choices and actions. If you aren't having a good day or you're not in a good mood, it's up to you to do something about it. Detailed information and practices on that subject are available here.
#5. Assess your current situation
Make a list of everything going on in your life right now. The things you like, the things you don't,
and things you want to work on. Maybe you want more money, maybe you have money and no friends, the list could be endless but it's important to be honest with yourself here. This will be the baseline to being learning and changing and creating whatever aspects of life that you may wish.
A solid understanding of these 5 things will set you up for success with personal development. Take as much time as needed to just work through these things and put them in practice. Personal development is a lot like demolishing a structure and constructing a new one on the same piece of ground. It's not "overnight" work. To do this kind of work requires dedication, honesty, and a lot of courage. So, take as much time and needed and go as fast or slow as you feel is right for you.

Personal Development For Beginners
So what exactly is personal development and why should anyone want to pursue it? Personal development is meant to further one's intellectual knowledge as well as learn new and better ways of doing things. The point of personal development is to learn ways to reach your full potential, live your life purpose, inspire people around you, and make life interesting.
In the realm of personal development, we are learning about the tools that are available for our use as humans as well as how to use them. The book and DVD "The Secret" has given world wide exposure to the concept of the law of attraction. Other terms such as "Conscious Creation" and "Intention Manifestation" have also been gaining exposure as useful tools to better one's life. As to the definition an use of these tools, I will be covering them in depth with as many resources as I can make available. I will share my personal experiences, useful experiments, and many of my practical applications as I continue the blog.
More or less, If you question society and how things really work, personal development is for you. If you have an open mind and like to consider new ideas I encourage you to take a few leaps of faith and try some new things out. Every individual knows what is right for them and some people are comfortable and happy with the 9 to 5 grind and things just as they are. There are others who wish to explore the realms of possibilities and discover new things. Personal development is an individual choice and can be pursued as much or as little as one wishes. At times it can be hard work, and at other times it can be a lot of fun. The basis of the concept is focused on challenging what you know, finding what you believe to be right, and living life with powerful choices.
